Francisco: About the Man

Francisco is the suave and upbeat protector of Juliet of the anime series Romeo x Juliet, made by GONZO. Fans admire him both for his sweet personality and beautiful appearance. But although he's not the main character of the series, he plays a vital role in ensuring princess Juliet's success in overthrowing the dasterdly villain, Lord Montague. It was Lord Montague that killed his family to Montague's mindless rage.

Francisco seems to radiate happiness and a surety that no other character displays in Romeo x Juliet. In fact, the first thing people usually notice about Francisco is his charming smile. As stated in a previous section, Francisco has a very upbeat personality and is not afraid to let his voice be known. He is a gentlemen elite, displaying courtesy and exquisite manners, especially to the heir of the Capulet Clan, Juliet.

Francisco is the brains of Juliet's coalition and, when something goes wrong, he always has another plan to fall back on. His expertise is archery, preferring long-range combat to short range combat. Francisco is also the childhood friend of Curio and a definite ladies' man, favorite to almost every woman in Neo Verona. Needless to say, he has no problem hiding from Neo Verona Guardsmen. A notable fact, he is also one of (if not the only) the few who supports Juliet's love for Romeo, even though he may be sacrificing his own feelings for her in the process.

The character Francisco is not someone that GONZO took out of thin air, he is actually, like the rest of the cast of Romeo x Juliet, from a Shakespeare play. His character played a minor role in Shakespeare's tragedy Hamlet.
